Davenport Parks and Recreation strives to help the community reach their health and wellness goals, through a variety of programming for the mind, body and spirit.  Please join us for any of our sports programs, open to all without regard to previous level of fitness or activity.

Naturalization and No Mow Policy

Over the past few years our park users, golf course players, and residents may have noticed changes in the way some of our parks, golf courses, and green spaces are being managed and maintained. We term this naturalization. Naturalization is a process by which a disturbed site is restored to its natural heritage and ecological function by encouraging the establishment of native plant species. Davenport Parks and Recreation will be holding a series of three Comprehensive Plan meetings in the coming weeks. Everyone is encouraged to participate in this process formalizing the Comprehensive Plan that will be in place for the next ten years.
