The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is under the command of Captain Dave Struckman. The division is comprised of two bureaus, each supervised by a Lieutenant: the Detective Bureau and the Tactical Operations Bureau. Each has a specific role and are equally important in bringing any investigation to a successful conclusion. Two clerical staff members support the Division.
The Detective Bureau has three units: Person Crimes, Property Crimes and the Juvenile Unit. Each unit is supervised by a Sergeant. Within these units are certain specialties, such as Warrants Officer, Ploygraph Investigator, Computer Forensics, School Resource Officer, School Liaison Officer and Juvenile Court Liaison officer.
The Tactical Operations Bureau (TOB) has three major areas of concentration: gangs, street crimes, and vice and narcotics. This Bureau also has a Crime Analysis Specialist and officers assigned to Metropolitan Enforcement Group (MEG), Quad City Gang Task Force (QCGTF) and Hotel Interdiction Drug Enforcement (HIDE).
The Criminal Investigation Division has developed a reputation for conducting thorough and exhaustive investigations. Many other agencies from around the area seek out their assistance and professional advice when the need arises. This division prides itself in providing the citizens of Davenport with the highest level of service and protection for the community. |
