The Davenport Police Department Records Bureau provides police reports, background information and crime statistics to the general public, media and police personnel internally and nationwide. Staffed by seven (7) civilian clerks and a records manager, the bureau maintains all records generated by the department. We process and store over 29,000 reports per year.
![]() The bureau is open to the public weekdays from 8 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. closed weekends and holidays. Located at 416 N. Harrison Steet To request public information, stop by the bureau during business hours. You will be required to fill out a Public Record Information Request form so we can retrieve the public information available. Citizens may also obtain a police background report for themselves. This is often requested by citizens to give to potential employers. Please note that we can only provide Davenport Police records information for these requests. Request Public Records (Download and Print form) We will provide copies of public information as required by state law. The charge for police reports can range form $4.00 to $11.00. The charge for a background records check is a minimum of $7.00. Reports and record checks can also be Faxed or mailed. The minimum fee for this service is $8.00. Our department follows the guidelines of chapters 22 and 692 of the Iowa State Code, more commonly know as the "Freedom of Information Act".
