INTRODUCTION
The Design Center is a distinctive resource within the Community Planning & Economic Development Department, assisting the City of Davenport with planning and urban design projects. The Design Center lends support to the myriad projects in the development of Davenport as a world-class city: pedestrian and recreational amenities along the river front, new housing and commercial centers, neighborhood revitalization efforts, context sensitive infill development, street and corridor redesign, and alternative transportation planning.

The task force for building a vital and vibrant city, however, is far greater than the capabilities of City Staff alone; it is a community endeavor. Soliciting public input in the design and development of our city spaces ensures lasting value within our neighborhoods and human settlements. As such, the Design Center has been established to serve another important and primary function of city building: community outreach.
