About Us
The Planning and Land Use office develops plans for the future development of the community and administers development regulations, which ensure that the use and development of land meet community standards. The City's comprehensive plan is maintained and updated with a focus on geographic areas and issues arising from changing conditions. In addition, Planning and Land Use staff administers the City of Davenport's Zoning, Subdivision, Historic Preservation, and Flood Damage Prevention ordinances with assistance from the City Plan and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment and the Historic Preservation Commission. The above ordinances are all contained in the Davenport Municipal Code, which is maintained by the Davenport City Clerk.
