The Deputy City Clerk is an Appointee of the City Administrator with approval by the City Council and serves at the Council and City Administrator's pleasure. The Deputy City Clerk is designated as being responsible for duties of the City Clerk defined by the Code of Iowa and Davenport Municipal Code as well as those designated by the City Council. These include preparation of City Council agendas for Committee of the Whole and City Council meetings; recording and maintaining all Council records, proceedings and ordinances; issuing of liquor licenses and beer permits.

 

The Deputy City Clerk also acts as the City's Hearing Officer on matters designated by the Davenport Municipal Code. The Deputy City Clerk regularly provides information concerning Council proceedings and ordinances to the general public and other City Departments.
