NEWS:
1. The Davenport Compost Facility will accept tree trimmings and brush from Scott County residents and commercial business at no charge. All log material must be cut to five foot lengths.
2. New Product: Garden Soil is an engineered product containing a blend of our Earth Cycle Compost, Organic Potting Soil, and Sand and is great for immediate planting. Use in pots, planters and raised gardens. Currently only available in bulk quantities, and priced at $10 per 1/2 cubic yard or $20 per cubic yard.
3. Wood chips are currently unavailable for sale.
4. The Davenport Compost Facility is accredited 
by the American Public Works Association and designated a Model Program.
17 Year Anniversary!
The Davenport Compost Facility opened May 1, 1995 and will be celebrating 17 years on May 1, 2012.
Landfill Diversion Totals (as of December 1, 2011)
Since the facility opened May 1, 1995 the following volumes (cubic yards) have been diverted from the landfill and converted to environmentally safe products and sold locally.

Bulk Sales Unavailable Until Late Summer 2012! 
Organic Potting Soil is now available at the facility for $18 per cubic yard and $2.50 per one cubic foot bag. This product is high in organic matter and water holding capacity and is a great material for flower pots/beds and gardens. Organic nutrients reduce fertilization!
The Davenport Compost Facility recycles yard, garden and tree trimmings from the City of Davenport and surrounding Scott County, Iowa.
These materials are processed to create environmentally safe and beneficial composted soil amendments. Each year the facility diverts an estimated 130,000 cubic yards of organic materials from the land fill.
