Completion of the Rockingham Rd reconstruction and resurfacing project is significantly delayed due to necessary underground gas main work.
All work on the gas main in the area where storm sewer reconstruction needs to continue is expected to be complete by Sunday, September 24th.
Crews will return on Monday, September 25th to continue moving forward with storm sewer pipe installation and related curb and gutter.
Watch for changing traffic controls in the coming weeks as storm sewer reconstruction moves west to Birchwood.
After storm sewer work restarts a new schedule for estimated project completion will be released.

Beginning Monday August 28th, Rockingham Rd Reconstruction and Resurfacing project will begin moving west from Schmidt Rd for continuing storm sewer pipe installation.  Storm sewer pipe installation will be followed by sub-base preparation and concrete patching as work moves west to Birchwood.
Motorists are advised a closure of Schmidt Rd between River Dr and Rockingham Rd will also occur beginning Monday.  The closure is necessary for work on the railroad tracks by CP Rail.  Work is estimated to be complete by Friday, September 1st.  Traffic delays are possible due to the closure.

Progress on the Rockingham Rd Reconstruction and Resurfacing project has continued to see delays as the result of underground gas line boring and underground utility system updates.

The contractor will be returning next week to construct the sub-base and apply an initial patch to the section of Rockingham between Schmidt Rd and Hancock where storm sewer work is complete.  Additional re-surfacing work will be completed along the entire project stretch following completion of storm sewer improvements.

Work along the stretch will advance in a westerly direction from Schmidt Rd to Birchwood as underground utility work progresses.

Work on the Rockingham Rd Reconstruction and Resurfacing project has been delayed for completion of gas and electrical line work by the utility.

Portions of storm sewer construction are complete.

Staff anticipates storm sewer construction work will resume around Monday, July 24th, depending on status of utility work. Once construction resumes, work will move westerly from Schmidt Rd to Birchwood.  At this time, staff anticipates all storm sewer work in the north westbound curb lane will be complete in August.  Once complete, next project phases will begin.

The city will update further as work progresses and traffic control patterns change.

Reconstruction and resurfacing of Rockingham Rd between Birchwood Av and Schmidt Rd will begin Tuesday, May 30th.  Work will include storm sewer, curb and sidewalk improvements.

The first phase of construction consists of storm sewer construction, and will begin at the intersection of Rockingham and Schmidt Roads and move westerly to Birchwood. During this phase of construction, the north curb lane of Rockingham Rd will be closed.  Two-way traffic will be routed in available lanes south of the construction area.

Motorists are advised to pay attention to signs as work progresses.  Traffic delays are possible.

Additional phases will follow completion of storm sewer construction in the north curb lane.  Road construction is anticipated to be complete by late Fall 2017, depending on weather and subsurface conditions.
