Twelve mostly-youth focused programs are located at the J.B. Young Opportunity Center that held a ribbon cutting Tuesday for the recently opened facility.
The building is a former intermediate school, located at Main and Locust streets, that has been converted to provide space for local agencies.
Tenants in the renovated space are Safer Foundation QC, Pena's Davenport Boxing Club, Quad-City Sports Federation, ProStart Culinary Arts Program, River Bend Foodbank, the Art Legacy League, Children's Village at J.B., Davenport School Museum and Boys and Girls Club of the Mississippi Valley Davenport Teen Center.
The opportunity center is a project of the Davenport Community School District that will move its administration operations there next year.
