A Davenport family is homeless following a weekend trailer fire. The Davenport Fire Marshal’s office is continuing to investigate a Saturday morning fire in the 5100 block of North Fairmount Street.

District Chief Joe Smith says the call came in shortly after 11AM.  Upon arrival DFD crews found smoke and fire pouring from the trailer.  Crews were able to extinguish the fire within minutes and search the home for occupants. Crews remained on scene for approximately three hours.

The home was occupied by 2 adults, 1 child, and a dog, who were not home at the time of the incident. The Red Cross provided assistance to the displaced family. There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
