The City of Davenport's Finance Department recently received the Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. The City has received the award for more than 20 consecutive years.
The award reflects the commitment of the Finance Department and its staff to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting.
The City had to meet nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation that include a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device. and must be rated proficient in 14 criteria under those guidelines.
