Stormwater BMP 50/50 Cost Share Program

What we do on the land affects our water resources.

The City has a new 50/50 Cost Share Program to help reduce water pollution and flooding.

All of the water that runs off of paved surfaces, rooftops and even some lawns, carries pollutants and other nutrients that degrade the health of our local, regional and national water resources.

Water run off can also contribute to flash flooding during extreme weather events because the deluge of water these events bring isn’t infiltrated.

Installing stormater BMPs (Best Management Practices) such as native landscapes, rain gardens, porous/pervious pavement, and other practices help improve water quality and reduce flash flooding by infiltrating water that would otherwise run off of impervious surfaces, down the storm drain and directly to the nearest creek.
