The City of Davenport will be accepting applications for 3 new construction single family homes available for sale to qualified buyers through its Urban Homestead Program.  The homes are located at 643 East 6th Street, 634 East 6th Street, 646 East 6th Street. Applications must be submitted in person along with a copy an ID and Social Security Card for anyone in the home over the age of 18.   Please call with any questions: 563-326-7765

**Two different federal funding sources were used to complete this project. Each source has its own set of income limits. Please note if you income falls in the lower income limit bracket you would potentially qualify for all three of the homes. If your income is above the lower income limit yet below the higher bracket you would potentially qualify for the 646 E. 6th Street home only.**

Those interested in applying to purchase any of the homes must meet basic credit and income requirements, but are not required to put any money down. There is a $25.00 nonrefundable application processing fee.

Exterior Accessibility Grant Program

Exterior Accessibility Grant Program offers grants to homeowners and renters (with landlord approval) within the corporate limits of the City of Davenport for the installation of exterior ramps, when applicable, and other accessibility options when necessary in order to improve access to the home. Household must meet income, assets, and properties limits set by HUD.  Grant funds are limited; this is a one-time grant for each eligible and approved recipient.

Owner Occupied Rehab Loan Program

Owner Occupied Housing Rehab Loan Program offers loans to homeowners within the corporate limits of the City of Davenport for the correction of existing and potential Housing Code violations.  The program does not preform work on basements or foundations.  Household must meet income, assets and properties limits set by HUD.  A mortgage and promissory note secures all eligible and approved loans.

Small Business Loan Program
The City of Davenport Small Business Loan Program (SBLP) is designed to assist small businesses that are creating new jobs in our City. The Small Business Loan Program offers low interest loans of up to $20,000 for qualified business owners. More information on the Small Business Loan Program can be found here.
Urban Revitalization Tax Exemption

The URTE program's objective is to encourage private investments in targeted areas of the city by providing an exemption on the increase in property taxes resulting from improvements. The URTE program works as an incentive to help reinvigorate Davenport.  The program was established to help soften the burden of high property taxes that can result from improving a home/property.

DavenportNOW

Davenport NOW is a tax incentive for new construction of single family residential or non- residential commercial properties as well as the rehabilitation of all properties within the City Service of Davenport. The rebate is for 50% of the City's portion of the taxes for ten years based on the increase in assessed value from construction.

There are three ways to receive your Davenport NOW benefits:

  • One lump sum
  • Rebates spread out over 10 years
  • 13 years of rebates utilized for a college savings plan

In order to meet the program end date of June 30, 2018 the property deed will need to be in your name, and all permits/final certificate of occupancy must be completed by May 31, 2018.

 

Home Buyer Down Payment Grant Program
Home Buyer Down Payment Grant Program:
The Home Buyer Down Payment Grant Program offers funding for future Davenport home buyers towards the down payment on homes within the Davenport City Limits.  The program will provide up to $2500 towards the down payment and closing cost of the home.  Federal income and property eligibility requirements apply.
