Commit to Regional Partnerships

Description/Goal

Continue the development and facilitation of partnerships focused on community enhancement.

Current Update

The City of Davenport, Figge Museum, and Cultural Trust have signed an agreement for a long-term community funding plan. Under the terms of the new agreement, the City of Davenport will continue to provide $753,000 annually in operating support for the Figge Art Museum through FY 2025. Beginning in FY 2026, the City will provide $800,000 annually in operating support through FY 2030. If the agreement is renewed under the terms presented herein, the City will provide an additional $30,000 annually for each 5-year renewal period.

Previous Status

In August 2018, the City of Davenport and the Putnam Museum entered into a long-term community funding plan in cooperation with the Cultural Trust. The funding agreement was approved by all three entities and ensures that the Putnam Museum will remain a long-term cultural asset to the Quad Cities. The City of Davenport and the Cultural Trust both committed to increase funding over the near- and long-term to provide financial stability to the Putnam Museum's operations. The City of Davenport, Figge Museum, and Cultural Trust have also finalized a similar tentative agreement for a long-term community funding plan. This tentative agreement is currently being circulated among all three organizations for council/board approvals.
